Shaista Lodhi


Shaista Lodhi (Urdu: شائستہ لودھی ‎) is a Pakistani Anchor and TV Presenter. She was the host of the morning show Good Morning Pakistan, which airs onAry Digital. In the end of September 2010, she joined GEO[citation needed] and is now hosting a morning show of Pakistan 'Utho Jago Pakistan' on the same channel.

EARLY LIFE

Shaista Lodhi was born in Shikarpur, Sindh, Pakistan. She has two brothers and the younger brother Sahir Lodhi, is also a Pakistani television presenter. They are ethnic Pathans.[1] She passed her F.Sc. Pre-medical from Government College of Women, Karachi. Shaista Lodhi earned a Doctor of Medicinedegree from Sindh Medical College[citation needed].

CAREER

Shaista started her career as a radio anchor which led her to become a news anchor at a private TV Channel. She hosted "Shaista and U", a thought-provoking program with a live audience which debated on various issues and topics pertaining to the Pakistani population and country. Her first TV show was Hum aur App Barah-e-Rast (We and You Direct); which aired on the same channel. She also hosted a morning show on ARY one world with the name of Bakhabar Savera (Informative/News Morning). Then she switched her genre and talents towards shows that were more entertainment based; when she started to shows such as Good Morning Pakistan on ARY. She left ARY and went over to Geo Television and host the morning show host namely Utho Jago Pakistan.She also acted in renowned Pakistani music artist Faakhir Mehmood's single video 'Baylia' which released in March 2012. She also played a little role in comedy sitcom Kis Din Mera Viyah Howay Ga 2 which aired in the month of Ramadan on Geo TV

PERSONAL LIFE

She became Shaista Wahidi after marrying Waqar Wahidi on January 17, 1999. She has three children, including two sons and one daughter: Shafay (1999), Faiz (2002) and Eeman (2004). In October 2012, she was divorced by her husband Waqar and lives with her children.[citation needed]
