Bahria Model School No 2
During the tenure of Commodore M Bashir Chaudhry as Commandant of the Pakistan Navy, Chaudhry took the initiative to extend the education facility to special children by establishing a school in the residential area of PNS Karsaz.[2] This special children's school is spread over a 60,000 square feet (5,600 m2) covered area and has been exclusively designed to meet all future requirements, matching international standards. The school caters to children with varying limitations, such as mental retardation, learning disabilities, physical disabilities, hearing impairment or visual disabilities. The school is equipped with a computer laboratory, science laboratory, occupational therapy/physiotherapy hall, sensory room, auditory room, activity rooms, speech therapy room, resource room, Braille room, attention room, hydrotherapy pool, auditorium and vocational room. The school was built in 2003-5 at a cost of Rs. 88.00 millions collected through philanthropists. This is one of the most prominent contributions of Commodore Chaudhry for the populace of Karachi in general and PN in particular. People of Karachi and naval personnel take his name with respect and high regards.
